THE ENEMY OF RENEWAL
Bible Text: Galatians 5:16-17
The number one enemy that can sabotage your efforts for renewal is the flesh. The flesh is an enemy to any transformation plan for your life, anything that can only be achieved through spiritual strength and the enablement of God will be opposed by the flesh.
Over your life there is a constant strive between the flesh and the Spirit, and the one that win will rule you. The one that you yield yourself to will determine the outcome of your life both spiritually and physically, because the spiritual controls the physical.
Every living person will have to deal with the challenges by the flesh. It is the avenue of which the devil can gain access into your life, and it is through the flesh that he can gain control. People fall only when they yield to the control of the flesh. The flesh is an enemy of renewal, You must deal with its challenges before it sabotages your destiny. There is nothing good that comes out of the works of the flesh.
The flesh is the doorway through which the world passes its appeal to you. When the Spirit is victorious over your flesh, the enticement from the world will not be appealing to you.
One major battle you must not lose is one with the flesh, many have derailed in their Christian journey because they were overcome by the flesh. That was an abomination because believers in Christ have been empowered to rise above the enticements of the devil.
You have the Spirit of Christ in you, therefore victory over the flesh is possible. You will not lose.
ACTION STEPS
- Discover the common area that the devil always comes at you. Where are you most vulnerable to the enemy’s trick? (Matthew 13:24-25)
- Search the scripture and find relevant scripture that addresses your challenges. Read it daily to yourself and back up your confessions with action. Do what the Word says. (John 5:39)
